Creating Your Account and Profile

You can create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with a Google account. Either way, a profile is created automatically the first time you sign in, and you can fill in the rest of your details from your Profile page at any time.

Choosing your roles

When you set up your profile, you'll pick one or more roles that describe you: Event Organizer, Venue Owner, Musician, Comedian, Poet, Spoken Word Artist, A Fan of the Arts, or Other. Roles aren't just labels — a couple of them unlock specific features:

  • The Event Organizer role is required before the "Create Event" option appears in your account menu. If you don't see it, add that role to your profile and it will show up right away.
  • The Musician role (along with at least one instrument listed on your profile) is required to request to jam with a performer during a show that accepts jam requests.

You can hold multiple roles at once — plenty of people are both performers and organizers — and you can add or remove roles later from your Profile page.

Filling out the rest of your profile

Beyond roles, your profile includes a display name, an optional profile picture, a short bio, social and streaming links, and a home location. Setting a home location helps the events list show you shows near you first. None of this is required to browse the site, but a complete profile makes it easier for other performers and fans to find and follow you.
