How to Create and Manage an Event

To create an event, your profile needs the Event Organizer role — add it from your Profile page if you don't see "Create Event" in your account menu yet.

Setting up the event

When you create an event, you'll fill in a name, date and time, one or more event types (Music, Comedy, Poetry, Spoken Word, Other), a description, and a poster image. For the venue, you'll search for and select an address from the Google location suggestions rather than typing it freehand — this maps the event to real coordinates, which is what powers distance-based features like guest signup verification and location-based event search. Purely online events can skip this by using the stream-only or external-listing options instead.

Time slots and signup type

You'll define a number of performance time slots (with a duration for each), and choose how those slots get filled: Vote Ranking or First-Come, First-Served. See the dedicated article on that choice in this help section.

Extra options

Events can also be set up with a live stream (YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook Live), a list of available backline equipment performers can claim (amps, drum kits, mics, and so on), and can be marked as recurring on a weekly or monthly schedule so you don't have to recreate the same show every week. You can add co-hosts who share management access to the event.

Managing the event afterward

From the event page, hosts and co-hosts can edit details, cancel the event (or a single occurrence of a recurring series), remove performers, mark the show as live, and monitor the lineup in real time from the event's live page once the show is underway.
