Signing Up as a Guest

You don't need an account to sign up for a show. If you're at the venue and want to get on the list, click "Sign Up to Perform" while signed out and you'll be asked for just your name — no email, no password, no profile setup.

Why we check your location

Because a guest signup has no account behind it, OpenStageCall uses your device's location as a lightweight way to confirm you're actually at the venue before adding you to the lineup: your browser will ask for permission to share your location, and the signup is only accepted if you're within 500 yards of the event's venue. If you're too far away, or you decline the location request, the signup won't go through.

This means guest signup is only available for in-person events that have a real, mapped venue address — it isn't offered for stream-only or template events, since there's no physical location to check against.

What guests can (and can't) do

A guest signup gets you a spot in the lineup under your name, visible to the host and the audience just like any other performer. Because there's no account attached, a guest can't edit or cancel their own signup afterward — if plans change, the event host can remove a guest from the lineup from the event page.

If you expect to perform regularly, creating a free account and an Act is worth it: you'll be able to sign up in advance from anywhere, build a profile other people can follow, and manage your own signups without needing to be standing at the venue.
